<p>It is only natural, most people want to look their best, and exercising their stomach muscles is usually a huge part of most fitness programs. If so much time and energy is going to be focused on this muscle group, it is a good idea to know what the best stomach exercises are. There are many resources available for finding the best stomach exercises, and plenty of people to say what they consider the best, so how can a person decide for themselves which truly are the best exercises for working their stomach muscles? </p>
<p>First of all it is important to note that the best stomach exercises are those that a person is willing to do. No matter how effective the exercise is, if a person isn&#8217;t going to do them consistently the exercise will not benefit that particular individual. It is also important to note that the best stomach exercises do not necessarily require equipment to perform them, although some machines and equipment may work quite well for some people. </p>
<p>When a person decides on a fitness program that includes stomach exercises, it is best to include stomach exercises that work the different parts of the stomach. If a person simply concentrates on one area of their stomach, there workout will not be as effective. The best stomach exercises, combine working the oblique, which are the side muscles, the lower abdominals, the mid section and also the upper section. </p>
<p>Some of the most popular stomach exercises are crunches. These are a very effective exercise and very convenient since they can be performed anywhere without any equipment. The next stomach exercise that is also very popular and goes along with the basic crunch is the side crunch, which works out the oblique. </p>
<p>Some people consider the best stomach exercises to be included in a Pilate&#8217;s workout. The reason for this is because in Pilates, the whole focus is on the core of the body which is the abdominal, or stomach muscles. Every movement in a Pilate&#8217;s workout will work the stomach muscles either directly or indirectly.  These exercises can be found on the internet, either the exercise itself or video&#8217;s that can be purchased.</p>
<p>Another good exercise that some fitness experts considers to be one of the best stomach exercises involves laying flat on your stomach, leg straight and then raising your body up using your arms as your hands are clasped together and keeping your body straight as if doing a pushup. Hold this position as long as you can stand. This is an excellent movement to strengthen the whole stomach.</p>
<p>Remember again though that just because one person may consider a specific exercise to be the best stomach exercise that does not necessarily mean it is the best for everyone. Each person&#8217;s body is different and will respond differently to certain movements. Any one serious about working on the abdominal muscles will find it most helpful to try several different stomach exercises and then determine which one they can both feel and see results with. If one exercise is simply too hard to do correctly, or does not feel like it has done anything for the muscle group worked, that exercise is clearly not the best and the person should find what works best for them.</p>

<p>We are forced to rely on spending time in deliberate exercise programs. It takes dedication of time, energy and cash to keep our bodies looking the way we want them to look. A lot of people do opt to become a member of a gym, but many of us do not feel comfortable using perspiration drenched machinery, and exercising in front of probing eyes of dozens of other people working out around us. </p>
<p>If you&#8217;re overweight the last thing you want to think about while you&#8217;re working out is how you look. Obviously the idea is that you don&#8217;t like how you look, so it&#8217;s hard to feel comfortable about being scrutinized by everyone else while you&#8217;re working out. </p>
<p>For this reason a lot of people are attracted to the option of a home fitness system that offers many exercises and a complete work out program in the security and privacy of your own home. Before making the decision to buy one of these systems make sure that the system is right for you. Think about what you want to get out of the program, research the machines that are available out there and find the best one for your needs. </p>
<p>TV, the Internet and magazines are full of advertisements for all types of fitness machinery. The two biggest names that you are apt to see again and again are Total Gym and Bowflex. </p>

Bowflex has improved its system in several ways in the many years since it first came out. The system is quite expensive, but you get a lot out of it. The Bowflex machine looks pretty much the same in general shape as the basic machines you find in the average gym, but it uses rods to create resistance instead of weights. Bowflex claims that this variation makes a workout with their machine smoother than with other machines that use weights for resistance. Bowflex is a single machine that can let you do many of the same exercises that people do in the gyms using weights. One of the benefits of the Bowflex system is that it is compact and easy to store. The basic system can fold up and fit under a bed.</p>
<p>The Total Gym folds up and goes under a bed just like the Bowflex can. The way it works is by pulleys, and a board that slides up and down. The pulley system uses the weight of the person exercising, and additional weights if you choose the upgrade, to allow the person to exercise using the pulleys. You can use this machine to exercise virtually the whole body. Two famous spokespeople, Chuck Norris, the famous martial artist, and Supermodel Christie Brinkley, are responsible for making this a very popular machine.</p>

<p>A lot of people think in order to build muscle you have to abandon life outside of the gym by devoting hours upon hours like a monk.  Maybe the only way to chisel the body into hot form and physique is to give blood, sweat and tears every hour of every day of every year.</p>
<p>However, these sacrifices are not necessary, even though hard work is.  Going through extreme fitness does require someone to be somewhat of a slave to the iron bar.  Full body workouts can help you progress this easily and it will also fit into your schedule, whatever the schedule may be. This is extremely convenient for someone who is looking for progress and to achieve extreme fitness but has a hard time sticking to a single workout regimen.</p>
<p>When you are going for genuine full body workout, athletes are able to achieve this with the goal in mind that they want maximum muscle contraction.  By using heavy weights, this goal is attainable and also gives plenty of time for full muscle recovery, which in turn, helps the muscle grow faster and allows you to train harder.  This also prevents burnout, which eventually, will happen when you are excessively training.</p>
<p>This is the ins and outs of a full body workout.  This will, as I mentioned before, be a huge time saver.  The biggest benefit to doing a full body workout is that you will spend less time in the gym and go less frequently. I would suggest a full body workout two to three times per week.</p>
<p>The second advantage to doing a full body workout is that you are working all of your major muscle groups all at once instead of two or more hours of exercise per muscle group, you can spend one hour a day in the gym.  With full body workouts it is about the quality not the quantity, not even the amount of time per workout.</p>
<p>You will also notice and major difference that the full body workout gives to the cardio system.  You will need to give yourself plenty of time for two to four sets of each major muscle area in the one hour session.  The more you can exercise everything in the one hour session, the faster your heart muscle and circulatory system is going to be worked out as well.  </p>
<p>The following are some things you do not have to worry about with your full body workout.</p>
<p>Typically, body builders tend to wait until the end of their workout to jam the cardio in.  Not only is this completely unnecessary, it is also a waste of time since cramming this into the last five minutes or so, is really not beneficial, at least, not as beneficial as continuing the cardio throughout the entire workout.</p>
<p>You shouldn&#8217;t do too many sets of one thing, however heavy lifting is strongly advised.  Some body builders believe that some light training to conserve energy for the body parts that will come later in a routine.  The bottom line here is, if you are not consistently training heavy throughout your entire routine, you are not doing yourself any favors and you will not gain optimal progression.</p>
<p>Doing one exercise per muscle group is extremely key. This is easier to follow and very important.  If you do basic exercises that are intense will save you time from having to do multiple exercises for one muscle group.  </p>
<p>Resistance training is also very effective when trying to keep your natural hormones in check, which is also very important to muscle building.  You will boost your testosterone and also increases the catabolic cortisol which helps in the loss of fat.  Essentially, you are getting the best of both worlds.</p>
